Defensive tackle Ray McDonald has been fired by the Chicago Bears following his arrest on suspicion of child endangerment and domestic violence in Northern California, the ABC News reported on May 26.
Despite McDonald’s “history of legal issues,” he was able to sign a one-year contract with the Bears in late March. The Chicago Bears general manager said in a statement that the team made it clear to McDonald the expectations set for him, which he was not able to meet.
His arrest was in light of an alleged domestic violence incident that happened on Monday morning at his house in Santa Clara, where he was suspected of assaulting a woman rearing a child. He was released the same day after posting bail.
