Sue Ann Hamm, ex-wife of oil magnate and Continental Resources, Inc., CEO Harold Hamm, is planning to appeal a court ruling that awarded her almost $1 billion from her divorce, claiming the award is less than 6% of their combined $18 billion wealth, the San Jose Mercury News reported on November 14.
An Oklahoma County judge awarded $995.4 million the second week of November to Sue Ann, who was married to Hamm for more than 20 years. Hamm was told to pay $322 million to Sue Ann before the year ends and to make partial payments of $7 million every month starting in January until he finishes paying the divorce settlement.
Continental Resources spokeswoman Kristin Miskovsky said the settlement would not affect the company’s business or operations.
