Hope Solo domestic violence charges dismissed

Charges of domestic violence against Seattle Reign goalie Hope Solo were dropped by a Kirkland Municipal Court judge after her legal counsel successfully argued that the alleged victims repeatedly avoided deposition, The Seattle Times reported on January 13.

In December, Solo’s legal counsel filed a motion to dismiss two misdemeanor charges of domestic violence against her, saying that his client could not get a fair trial because her nephew and half-sister, whom she allegedly assaulted at a family event in June, refused to be questioned. In a statement released by her publicist, Solo said she is relieved that the issue is finally over, and hopes to join her team again and compete.
